Experience
I'm a word nerd. I love English and love sharing it with others. And my goal as a tutor is to get you to where you need to be and work myself out of a job. I have a Bachelor's in English Literature with a minor in communications and I have a Master's of Social Welfare. I received scholarships and high honors for both programs. I served as the editor of the school newspaper for three years, worked in the English Tutor Center, and I interned at the Long Island Pulse Magazine. I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine for two years as a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher. I taught English to students from 4th-11th grade. I assisted in academic competition preparation and held clubs for the students. I recently left a job as an MSW to pursue writing, editing, and tutoring full time. I now ghostwrite for websites and blogs and am working on a book about my Peace Corps Service. I also edit for Barron's Educational Series (test prep books), fiction books, resumes, entrance essays, and websites.

I like to roller skate, read, craft-I like sewing, knitting, crocheting, coloring, and being creative. I love animals and have two cats, but grew up with dogs and love those too! I played sports in high school, soccer and track. I also love music and the genre depends on my mood. I enjoy cooking and am passionate about nutrition.
