Experience
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master of Spanish Literature. I also hold a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas. I hold teaching certification in Spanish at the K-12 grade level. I currently work as a high school Spanish teacher. I have been teaching at the secondary level for more than a decade and really enjoy educating children and adult learners in topic areas such as Spanish. I believe that an educator should encourage and adapt to a student's learning style and pace. A good teacher teaches in a manner that holds the student's interest. It's important not to bore students, so that they love to learn and are motivated to keep learning throughout their lives. Personal tutoring enables a student to excel because all of the tutor's attention focuses on providing instruction specifically for that one student, instead of an entire classroom of students. I enjoy watching students make progress and improve their grades. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my children. I also enjoy participating in sports activities. I play the cello and the guitar and have traveled to Mexico and other countries.
