I started tutoring in college, at Georgia Perimeter. Later on, I went to Georgia State University and tutored at the Math Assistant Complex, eventually earning a bachelor's in math. The time I spent teaching while also studying for my degree made me a better tutor. I was able to teach while learning, an invaluable insight. I began to ask my students what they needed help with, and realized it was best to check out their work before jumping in to help them. Often, the best thing to do is to let a student work it out alone, and just offer guidance as needed. However, I do know what all my students are doing and I make sure that they know I am always ready to jump in without hesitation. A lot of my teaching focuses on math: basic math, college algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, and statistics. I even do math modeling, which is a standard of mine.Besides tutoring, I take advantage of good weather by doing anything outside, especially hikes and photography. Shopping is another way I relax. Travel is fun, and I have a whole list of places I want to visit. Spending time with my cats makes me happy, too.
