Experience
I received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Howard University and a master's in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University. But it was tutoring that started my education career. I worked with a group every Saturday to tutor math while I went to Howard University. After graduation, I began teaching science, writing, and math to 5th graders. While I can teach all of these, math is my primary focus as a tutor. Making a student feel brilliant is something that I strive for in my teaching. Helping students to find strategies that work for them is a big part of this, as no two people learn in exactly the same way. Math in particular can be a challenge because of all the steps involved and all of the memorization that it often entails. Once students have a method of learning the important concepts, the world of math can be opened up to them. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family, whether it is having dinner with my husband, having a game night, or playing with my toddler. I also love to sing, read, and spend time outside by the pool.
