A need to make change to create some kind of difference in the world is what got me into teaching several years ago and I still enjoy it today. For many years, my favorite subjects have been writing and English, which led me to an Associate of Arts degree in English from Miami-Dade College. Later, I followed that with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami in Print Journalism and Creative Writing.After graduation, I stayed in the area initially and taught Language Arts at Miami Central Senior High School and was the sponsor for the school's Journalism club. I later moved to South Miami Senior High School to teach Honors English III, Reading, and Creative Writing. I have since made a move to Atlanta, Georgia, where I still provide students with individual attention in a home setting. Today, I tutor in reading, writing, essay editing, phonics, literature, grammar and mechanics, college essays, public speaking, Spanish, and English.It gives me great satisfaction to assist in a student's learning process and watching as they comprehend a concept or idea for the first time.Outside of tutoring, I like to write, read, cook, watch films, and play with my two cats.
